Why functional training

Get more from the equipment your gym already has

Suspension straps, resistance bands and fitballs are in almost every club, yet many instructors use only a fraction of what they can do. This course shows you how to turn them into varied, adaptable sessions for beginners, intermediate and advanced clients.

You learn to programme everything from high-intensity circuits to low-impact sessions, keep classes engaging, and focus on good movement and posture.

Three courses · one class

What you will learn to teach

  1. 1

    Suspension Training

TRX or similar straps: push, pull, rotational and core exercises using bodyweight for strength, endurance, mobility and balance.

  2. 2

    Resistance Band Training

Strength, stability and functional movement patterns, full-body work and adjusting resistance for each client's level.

  3. 3

    Fitball (Swiss Ball)

Stability, balance and core control, strengthening major muscle groups and using the ball within circuits.

  4. +

    Functional Circuit Class

Bring all three tools together: structure a complete circuit that combines strength and cardio, with progressions for every level.
